Symptoms of Eye Cancer

Eye Cancer Syptoms.jpgEye cancer in adults refers generally to several types of cancer that can develop in the eye.  Eye cancer can impact all parts of the eye and can be either metastatic (spread from other areas) or primary.  Breast cancer and lung cancer are the two most common cancers that spread to the eye.  In children, a type of eye cancer can develop called retinoblastoma.

In the early stages, eye cancer may not display any symptoms and is often caught during a routine eye exam.  In later stages in adults, watch for the following symptoms of eye cancer:

  • Bulging eye
  • Blurred vision in one eye
  • Floaters, which are small spots that seem to float in the vision field
  • Red or painful eye
  • Change in iris color or a dark spot on the iris
  • Loss of peripheral vision

If you’re experiencing any of these symptoms, please contact the specialists at Associated Retina Consultants in Phoenix for a consultation.
