Dr. Kirk was born and raised outside of Chicago. After graduating from the University of Illinois with a bachelors degree in Molecular and Cellular Biology and a minor in Chemistry, he attended medical school at Loyola University in Chicago. He went on to complete an internship in Spokane, WA and returned to Chicago for his ophthalmology training at the Loyola University Medical Center and the Edward Hines Jr. VA Hospital. He is thrilled to be escaping the Chicago winters for his retina fellowship in beautiful Phoenix. In his spare time, he enjoys competitive marathon running and exploring the many hikes Arizona has to offer with his wife, dog and newborn baby girl!
