Scott J. Sonne, M.D. | Second Year Fellow

Scott J. Sonne, M.D, is a retina fellow with a passion for advancing patient care through cutting-edge research and surgical excellence. A native of St. Louis, Missouri, he earned his undergraduate degree in Exercise Science from Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah, graduating magna cum laude. He then earned his Doctor of Medicine from Saint Louis University School of Medicine, followed by a residency in ophthalmology at Saint Louis University, where he served as Chief Academic Resident.
Dr. Sonne has contributed to multiple peer-reviewed publications, with research focusing on various topics in retina including intraocular lymphoma, retinal toxicity, early to intermediate age-related macular degeneration, and pathologic myopia. His clinical interests include vitreoretinal surgery, optimizing vision outcomes, and delivering exceptional patient care.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Sonne values time with his wife, Christianne, and their two children, Charlotte and Carson. He enjoys staying active through running, weightlifting, hiking, tennis, golf, water skiing, and snowboarding. A lifelong learner, he also has a passion for reading and exploring new topics. He is excited to expand his clinical and surgical expertise at Associated Retina Consultants.
Jacob Brucker, D.O. | First Year Fellow

Jacob Brucker is a retina fellow at Associated Retina Consultants. He was born and raised in Bismarck, North Dakota. Dr. Brucker earned his undergraduate degree in Biology from University of Jamestown, graduating magna cum laude while competing as a collegiate baseball player.
He completed medical school at Touro University Nevada in Las Vegas where he graduated top of his class. He then completed his ophthalmology residency with Kettering Health in Dayton, Ohio, where he served as Chief Resident.
Dr. Brucker developed a strong interest in serving patients with vitreoretinal disease during his training and is drawn to the complexity of retinal pathology and the opportunity to preserve vision.
Dr. Brucker is married to his wife, McKenzie, and together they have three children, Charlotte, Paul and Owen. In his free time, he enjoys supporting his children in their various activities and staying active outdoor
