Diabetic Eye Exam Frequency

Diabetic Eye Exam.jpgIf you’re diabetic, you may be wondering if you need more frequent eye exams.  Since vision loss and blindness is a common side effect of diabetes, your concern is valid.

Patients with diabetes or even those who are pre-diabetic may want to see their eye care professional at least once a year and should see their eye doctor immediately if any of the following symptoms develop:

  • Blurry vision
  • Seeing double
  • Pain around the eyes
  • Pressure in or around the eyes
  • Seeing floaters or spots
  • Straight lines no longer appear straight

Your eye exam should include dilation.  Please contact Associated Retina Consultants in Phoenix if you are experiencing any of these symptoms.  To schedule an eye exam, please call 602-242-4928 or associatedretinaconsultants.com
